Less than ten years after Janet Jackson shocked conservative viewers across the country with her famous wardrobe malfunction, another bad girl is set to take the Super Bowl stage.
The NFL has confirmed Madonna will perform at this year's Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show on February 5 -- and they don't sound too worried that the controversial performer will simulate masturbation or dry hump a dancer like she often does in her live performances.

"A world class entertainer, singer, songwriter, producer, director and video visionary, Madonna has sold more than 300 million records in the course of her three decade career as The Material Girl," read a statement from the NFL.
"She is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Her last tour was the most successful tour by a solo artist in history. Madonna is currently in the recording studio working on a new album scheduled to be released next year. Her new film W.E., which she directed, wrote and produced, is opening in a limited one week release Dec. 9 in Los Angeles and will open nationally on Feb. 3, two days prior to Super Bowl XLVI."
"Madonna has partnered with a creative team from Cirque du Soleil, Jamie King and multimedia artists from Moment Factory, to create a signature performance for the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show," said the statement.
The rumor that Madonna would rock the Super Bowl first surfaced in October when sports website SB Nation leaked the news.
"There's nothing to confirm at this point," Madonna's rep Liz Rosenberg said at the time -- but now obviously there is.
The timing couldn't be more perfect: The Material Girl is currently recording a new album with William Orbit that is scheduled for release in the spring -- but the first single is due right around Super Bowl time.
