Is Barbara Walters retiring?

Is Barbara Walters retiring? One source says so. Find out what happened -- and how Walters' rep is responding to the rumors.

Barbara Walters

Barbara Walters is an icon of journalism -- but she would be the first to admit that she's also no spring chicken. Is she getting ready to retire?

A source working with Walters during the taping of an interview with President Obama today claims she is wrapping it up next year. According to the insider, Walters tried to cajole the prez into promising another interview soon.

"I need one more interview with you because I'm retiring next year," the source overheard her say, noting that Walters was trying to be quiet but forgot her microphone was still hot.

Barbara Walters "fascinated" by Kardashians >>

So how accurate is this rumor? Jeff Schneider, the Senior Vice President of ABC News, told TMZ he had a chat with Walters about the rumor and she laughed it off.

"Barbara has joked that she is retiring every year since the Clinton Administration," he said. "Anyone who just did a day trip to Syria, a 90-minute prime time special and an interview with the President and First Lady hardly sounds like someone retiring from anything."

Barbara Walters declares Steve Jobs Most Fascinating Person of 2011 >>

Was it all just a ploy to pressure President Obama into giving another interview? "She's one of the greatest bookers who ever lived," Schneider laughed.

Barbara Walters is a busy lady today. Her Most Fascinating People special aired last night and she is the talk of the Internet today for getting Kim Kardashian to admit that no one in her family has any talent.

Russell Brand really can do it all. The actor and funny man is teaming up with FX for a new unscripted series that might bring a whole new meaning to staying up late.

Spring into late-night with FX and Russell Brand beginning this, well, spring.

The new duo is taking over late-night in a new series that is bound to be as wacky as the man himself.

Picture it: Russell Brand entertaining a studio audience with his fresh take on everything from politics to pop culture.

Check out Russell Brand's thoughts on babies >>

According to The Hollywood Reporter, that's exactly how FX and Russell Brand plan on formatting the new series that will consist of six episodes, with each being a half-hour.

FX executive vice president of original programming, Nick Gradsaid of the show that will feature interactive portions, "We're very excited to add Russell Brand's bracingly funny, original and honest voice to the FX comedy lineup.”

Russell Brand divorce rumor not true >>

Grad added, "We look forward to supporting Russell and his partner Troy Miller's ambition to strip down the hosted comedy format to its most fundamental elements and to create something daring and unfiltered for the FX audience."

Daring and Russell Brand is a very dangerous combination, so it's a good thing this show is going to be on FX.

Russell Brand also spoke about the new partnership, saying, "I am so excited I'm on the point of climax, in fact I will put the 'O' into FX, which spells Fox, which is actually the channel's real name. That's the only thing that worries me about all this to be honest."

Brand added, "At least I'll be able to have a Christmas drink with Bill O'Reilly."

Spring can't get here fast enough!

5 Shocking Golden Globe nomination snubs

Hey Golden Globes! You missed a nominee. This morning's TV and film nominations left several actors, movies and shows flapping in the wind. Melissa McCarthy's M.I.A. and poor Gary Oldman's nowhere to be found.

When it comes to this year's Golden Globe nominations, we noticed a few major oversights. Similar to the Screen Actors Guild, the Globes have given several deserving nominees the shaft. Plenty of new faces populate the list, but it's at the expense of their veteran peers.

Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston

Here are five amazing shows, films and actors that are missing in action.

Breaking Bad: AMC really hit the jackpot with this critical gem. The drama has an amazing cast, great stories and continues to keep audiences guessing. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to fend off the likes of Game of Thrones, American Horror Story or Boardwalk Empire for Best Drama. Bryan Cranston and his Best Actor nod will have to represent the show this year -- solo.

Community: Despite its cult following and critical acclaim, Community continues to evade awards season. It's just as geek-friendly as The Big Bang Theory but fails to earn Emmy, SAG or Golden Globe recognition. Community is well on its way to becoming one of the most underrated shows in television history.

The Muppets: The Muppets was one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. It told a heartfelt story, and was filled with great music and humor. But it was completely ignored in the comedy and musical categories, including Best Original Song. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has officially put the Muppet movement on ice.

Gary Oldman: Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is considered Gary Oldman's Oscar vehicle. Yet, he was shut-out for the SAG Awards and now the Golden Globes. His omission makes an Academy Award nomination seem less likely, which is a shame for such a talented actor.

Melissa McCarthy: The Golden Globes pulled a switcheroo! SAG nominated Melissa McCarthy for her supporting performance in Bridesmaids, but shut-out her co-star Kristen Wiig. In turn, the Golden Globes have nominated Wiig for Best Actress, while snubbing McCarthy. They're hilarious and talented ladies, who both deserve of a nomination. Why do they continue to cancel each other out?

The Golden Globe Awards air Jan. 15 on NBC.

Who do you think received the biggest snub from the Golden Globes this year?

5 Christmas gifts someone should give Kate Middleton

What do you give the girl who has everything? Kate Middleton landed her prince and now lives a life of royal luxury — but she still needs Christmas presents. Here are our real girl suggestions.

5 Christmas gifts for Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton Catherine Duchess of CambridgeBrown eyeliner

The heavy black-rimmed eyes get to be a little much on Kate Middleton sometimes. Full black eyeliner is great for evening, but daytime calls for a softer look. Brown would be lovely — still dramatic, but not nearly as harsh. Let's go for the top lids only, Kate.

Colored tights

We've seen Kate in nothing but sheer nude pantyhose and black tights since forever. She could amp up her style quotient while still looking perfectly princess-like in tights in a peacock blue, forest green or royal purple hue.

Madonna digs Kate Middleton's style >>

A huge bottle of Scotch

She's going to need it to get through her first Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham. There are five required wardrobe changes per day — everything from a church dress to formal evening wear — as well as shooting parties and a "novelty" gift exchange.

Kate Middleton's royal baby wishes >>

Body pillow

With Prince William off saving lives — not to mention his upcoming military tour to the Falkland Islands — Kate has quite a few lonely nights ahead of her. A body pillow is much more snuggly — and quieter — than one of the Queen's corgis.

Subscription to the Cake of the Month Club

While we appreciate Kate's dedication to keeping a slender physique, a little cushion on the hips wouldn't kill the girl. Gotta bulk up to bear those royal babies, right? A cake a month oughta do the trick.

Kim Kardashian drops thousands on Elizabeth Taylor's jewels

Kim Kardashian purchased jewels from another famous divorcée, Elizabeth Taylor. Find out how much the reality star dropped on some of the late actress' baubles!

It looks like Kim Kardashian still has a few pennies left over from her doomed marriage to Kris Humphries. The reality star dropped a serious amount of cash on a few of Elizabeth Taylor's bracelets auctioned off earlier this week.

Kim Kardashian buys Elizabeth Taylor bracelets

"Elizabeth Taylor was an idol of mine and I'm honored to now own something from her collection," Kardashian told US Weekly of her $64,900 auction haul. "The Lorraine Schwartz jade bracelets are special because jade transfers energy, so I will cherish these bracelets with her energy in them for the rest of my life!"

The maybe-girlfriend of Kanye West isn't new to Schwartz's jewels — the celebrity jeweler designed her huge engagement ring.

Kimmie's purchase wasn't even close to the biggest at the auction. A pearl, diamond and ruby necklace given to Taylor by ex-husband Richard Burton fetched $11.8 million

Dropping cash is only one of the things Kardashian did this week. The Kourtney and Kim Take New York star is doing her best to rehab her image by traveling with former Prime Suspect actress Maria Bello to Haiti.

"Who knew a woman who runs around on TV with a gun and another who runs around in heels would have so much in common? We were brought together through a bizzare [sic] turn of events, and we discovered our mutual goal of empowering women using our own unique voices," Kardashian and Bello wrote in an op-ed for The Huffington Post. "We decided to journey together with Kris, Farouk Shami, Patricia Arquette, Suzanne Lerner and a few of their friends to experience the Haiti that Maria has come to know and love through her organization, We Advance."

Mother Kris Jenner was also along for the ride — why? She's got to be involved in everything her cash cow does.

"We came to celebrate the thousands of Haitian women who are working tirelessly every day to bring economic and social justice to all people in Haiti. So to them we say: We are humbled and moved to have been with you and to tell the world about your grace. We are proud to tell the world your stories," they continued.

Hey Kim: $65K would do a lot to bring economic and social justice to Haiti… just sayin'.

Yee-Haw! Melissa Rycroft, Jennie Garth land CMT shows!

No, Melissa Rycroft and Jennie Garth will not be sharing reality TV screen time on CMT. Instead, the lovely ladies will each be getting their own show on the network that will put their real lives on display.

We know what you're thinking: How on Earth do Melissa Rycroft and Jennie Garth fit into the CMT format? They're not really country gals.

Well, keep reading to see what kind of reality shows these gals will be cranking out for the network.

According to a report via Entertainment Weekly, Melissa Rycroft will star in a CMT reality show that chronicles her move to Los Angeles and her quest for a Hollywood career, while maintaining a "long-distance" relationship with her husband Tye Strickland.

The series, no shocker here, is tentatively titled Melissa and Tye: A New Reality.

Check out Howard Stern's AGT deal >>

Jennie Garth's new show, I love Jennie, is going to feature the mother of three and her family as they move from Los Angeles to a "seven-acre farm in Central California."

According to the report, the shows will kick off in April, with eight episodes each.

Guess who is producing Melissa Rycroft's show? None other than the busiest man in Hollywood, Ryan Seacrest.

Seacrest and his production company, Ryan Seacrest Productions, along with Jayson Dinsmore and Eliot Goldberg will be a part of Melissa and Tye: A New Reality.

Ben Silverman, Jimmy Fox, Rick Ringbakk, Craig Armstrong, Peter Facinelli , Rob DeFranco, Jayson Dinsmore and Eliot Goldberg will executive produce I Love Jennie.

CMT isn't just about country music anymore. The network has been upping its game, but we're not sure how these ladies will fit into the format or if their lives will entice viewers to watch.

One thing we do know for sure, is that we love them both and will give them a chance -- will you?

Will you watch these new CMT shows?

Rooney Mara "excited" about Golden Globe nomination

Rooney Mara's stellar performance in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has earned her her first Golden Globe nomination. As expected, the actress is ecstatic and humbled by the news.

Rooney Mara

Thursday morning, the Hollywood Foreign Press announced their nominees for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards. The nominations list was filled with pleasant surprises including for first-timer Rooney Mara.

Mara was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. After being snubbed by the Screen Actors Guild, the HFPA happily acknowledged the rising star.

When the big news broke, Mara was in New York prepping for a work event. She told the Los Angeles Times,  "I was like half asleep getting my hair and makeup done to go to something when I heard about the nomination. It was a very pleasant surprise. I had totally forgotten that was even happening, because I've been traveling for three days. I was really excited."

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo hits theaters Dec. 20, and Mara's anxious for audiences to see the finished product. "I've never had any other experience with anything like this, so I'm just looking forward to the movie finally coming out. We all put so much hard work into it."

The film is based on a popular Swedish novel by Stieg Larsson that was originally adapted for the screen in 2009 by Niels Arden Oplev. The original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo starred Noomi Rapace and became a worldwide phenomenon. This year, David Fincher directs an American adaptation, which has Mara stepping into Rapace's shoes.

Is there any competition between Mara and Rapace over their shared role? Mara says no. "I think she is incredible, and I think there's room for both performances. I think our performances are very different."

The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards show airs Jan. 15.

He's back! Jimmy Fallon is going to warm our hearts this holiday season as the host of this weekend's Saturday Night Live.

Oh, Jimmy Fallon, how we love it when you tickle us with your sketch comedy wit.

The late night host is returning to his Saturday Night Live stomping grounds this week, with special musical guest Michael Buble.

It's always fun when former SNL cast members return to the stage to host.

Tina Fey never disappoints and there's no question that Jimmy Fallon is going to be buzzed about on Sunday.

That just got us to thinking about Tina Fey's sketch with Justin Bieber: Oh, that cougar teacher and her student.

Jimmy Fallon pokes fun at Justin Bieber >>

Jimmy Fallon is always spot on and never misses a beat. Something's a bit off-key, however, in one of his promos for this weekend's Saturday Night Live

Check out Jimmy Fallon and his guitar -- we want to see if you can figure out what's wrong with one of his tributes to Christmas.

Jimmy Fallon knows exactly what Saturday Night Live gave him in terms of his career and when it was announced back in August that he would host the Dec. 17 episode, he used his comedy chops to respond in a statement, saying, "I've never forgotten where I came from."

Fallon then jokingly added, "That's why I'm so incredibly honored to be hosting the Saturday Night Times program Dec. 17 on HGTV.”

That's our Jimmy Fallon! Always quick and always ready.

We want to hear from you. What sketch staples are you hoping to see Jimmy Fallon break out on SNL? There are so many good ones it's really hard to pick.

High-risk pregnancy

While pregnancy can be a time of joy and excitement for most mommies-to-be, for some women who are labeled as having a "high-risk pregnancy," the time can be filled with stress and uncertainty. Whether you've been diagnosed as high risk or are simply looking for ways to reduce your risk, discover the prenatal causes and common conditions associated with a high-risk pregnancy.

pregnant woman on bed rest

What are prenatal causes of a high-risk pregnancy?

Women with pre-existing health conditions may face a higher likelihood of having a high-risk pregnancy, but new research shows that cases of high-risk pregnancies extend beyond women facing obesity or high blood pressure.

Moms-to-be with asthma have shown pregnancy complications and may be labeled high-risk, while women with oral bacteria are now found to be at risk of preterm birth. For moms battling Bell's Palsy, Myasthenia Gravis, diabetes or epilepsy, you may also be labeled high-risk.

Which pregnancy issues cause a high-risk pregnancy?

While some health conditions can be avoided, some conditions such as preeclampsia or gestational diabetes that occur due to the pregnancy itself can cause a woman to be labeled as high-risk. Most expectant women carrying multiples may be twice blessed, but know that they are often faced with preterm delivery issues. Moms diagnosed with lesser known conditions such as placenta previa also face similar factors that can lead to a high-risk pregnancy label.

Procedures associated with high-risk pregnancies

Although the idea of having a high-risk pregnancy can be scary, learning about the test and procedures associated with this label can make it easier to understand. Facing an amniocentesis can be scary, but a little information about this common procedure may help ease your mind. And, with cesarean rates on the rise, you may want to find out more about possible labor and delivery choices associated with your prenatal condition.

Get help understanding the AFP test >>

How can I stop premature delivery?

Premature labor is commonly associated with high-risk pregnancies, and although you cannot prevent premature labor, certain medications may be able to reduce your risk of delivering your bundle of joy early. Some treatments such as progesterone are shown to decrease preterm birth rate, but only your physician can determine what, if any, medications are necessary.

Although your doctor is the best judge of whether you have a high-risk pregnancy, maintaining good health pre-pregnancy and keeping all of your prenatal appointments just may lower your risk of having a high-risk pregnancy.

We've seen the single braid everywhere from the runways to the city streets this season. We'll show you how to create your own version of the famous style with simple steps for the holidays.

When deciding which hairstyle to rock this month, there's nothing easier and more breathtaking than a delicate side braid. Who doesn't want to embrace their inner fairy or angel while gliding through the snow? Doesn't that just sound so dreamy?

While stars such as Diane Kruger and Minka Kelly have been known to channel their inner ethereal creatures with the hairstyle, reality star meets designer meets author Lauren Conrad always wins our award for the best side braid.

Whether she’s designing her collection Paper Crown or heading to a book signing for her bestselling novels, the mini-mogul’s braid always looks beautiful and effortless. Use the easy hair tips below to create your simple braid to be ready at a moment’s notice this season.

Create the braid

  • Texture: Make sure your hair has body before you begin braiding. Try Fekkai’s Full Volume Mousse to add the volume needed.
  • Tie: It’s always smart to tie back the chunk of hair you will not be using. This will allow you to focus on creating the perfect size braid.
  • Holiday Tip: As you braid, take a few pieces of metallic ribbon and incorporate into your braid for that easy, festive look.
Braid: Take three chunks of hair at the top of your left ear and braid placing one chunk over the other until you get towards the end of your hair.
  • Secure: Take a bobby pin , and place at end of braid. Then swing the strand at the left ear around to the back of your head and embed the pin into your large chunk of hair for the side braid look.
  • Spruce: Depending on the occasion, either lightly curl your hair for a glamorous evening look, or straighten for a casual but sexy vibe.

With this five minute routine, you will be sure to spread some holiday beauty cheer this year.

The Parents Television Council is super ticked at NBC for hiring Howard Stern as a judge on America's Got Talent. Read what they had to say.

Howard Stern Beth Otrofsky

His schtick isn't exactly appropriate prime time family fare -- so it's not surprising that the Parents Television Council is totally up in arms over the fact that Howard Stern signed on as a judge for America's Got Talent.

"In an act of desperation for a flailing network, NBC has hired Howard Stern -- a performer who is synonymous with shock, profanity and obscenity -- as a judge on a prime-time talent competition," said PTC president Tim Winter in a statement to the press.

"Not coincidentally, in just over three weeks the network will be standing before the United States Supreme Court arguing for the right to use the F-word at any time of the day, even in front of children."

Is Howard Stern too edgy for AGT? >>

"The once-proud broadcast network has lost its way and has made it clear it holds no concern whatsoever for children and families," Winter continued. "It also risks losing millions in advertising dollars. Whatever principles NBC had in the past, when the network was successful, have clearly gone out the window."

Frankly, Stern and his $20 million a year paycheck from America's Got Talent don't care what the Parents Television Council thinks -- and neither does NBC.

Howard Stern wants $20 million to judge America's Got Talent >>

"Howard Stern's larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America's Got Talent starting this summer," said Paul Telegdy, NBC's President of Alternative and Late Night Programming.

"He's a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable. Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success."

New couple alert: Kanye West and Kim Kardashian?

New couple alert? Kanye West couldn't keep his eyes off Kim Kardashian at his Watch the Throne afterparty in Los Angeles last weekend. Allegedly, of course.

Critics might argue that "hopeless romantic" Kim Kardashian needs better taste in men. The newly single socialite was reportedly spied making googly eyes at hip-hopster Kanye West during his Watch the Throne afterparty in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Yep, those pesky "Kim K. and Kanye Are Dating" rumors that have been popping up on The Gossip Wire since 2008 are back just in time for the holidays.

According to one spywitness, the pair engaged in some pretty heavy-duty pawing and PDA despite Kanye's reported romance with model Kate Upton and the fact that Kim is still technically a married woman.

A squeal says, "Kanye was eating Kim up like she was a piece of cake," a delicacy the soon-to-be divorcée has been known to appreciate.

Word is Kim and Kanye might have actually hooked up after the "H.A.M." rapper filmed a cameo on E!'s Kourtney and Kim Take New York last year.

In November, Kanye's former girlfriend, model Amber Rose, was asked about Kimmy's supposed fling with Yeezy on The Wendy Williams Show. She wouldn’t give a straight answer -- which is usually Hollywood-speak for "Heck yes!"

"I mean, come on, like you know… We'll keep it cute,” she said coyly.

The model was much more direct when asked about her own Kardashian-related fling.

Amber hooked up with Kim's ex, NFL star Reggie Bush, after the two broke up in 2010. She insists, however, that she was not the reason for their split.

"Hopeless romantic" Kim Kardashian is giving up the dream >>

"I'm not a homewrecker. I broke up with Kanye and [Reggie] broke up with Kim. We met after. We were both going through a hard time. We were each other's rebounds. It was brief, it was nice," Amber explained.

We've got a feeling Khloe Kardashian won't be pleased with this latest development in her newly-single sister's always-eventful love life.

With the recent NBA trade of her hubby Lamar, Dallas-bound Khloe has a lot on her plate at the moment. But that hasn't stopped her from playing cupid.

The man for the match? Reggie.

While Kim has been in contact with Reggie since splitting from Kris Humphries, it's Khloe who speaks to him the most.

"Khloe and Reggie have been speaking practically every day," a friend says. "Khloe is trying to get them back together."

Target facing nurse-in after alleged harassment of breastfeeding customer

Houston mom Michelle Hickman recently reported an incident at her local Target store, alleging employees asked her to move while breastfeeding her infant son. Target's nationwide corporate policy is also being questioned for ambiguous language. We break down the issue and talk to real moms about whether it's okay to nurse while you're shopping.

Breastfeeding mom in Target

The story

An incident took place at the end of November when a breastfeeding mom named Michelle sat down near a clothing display and breastfed her hungry infant. Fully covered by a blanket, she says that she was approached by two female employees who informed her they had been trained to redirect nursing mothers to the store's fitting rooms. Michelle alleges that one employee made a comment, indicating that she'd be reported for indecent exposure.

After Michelle left, she called Target's corporate headquarters and says she was taken aback at the ensuing conversation. She said, "The lady I spoke with told me that she and Target were aware of our legal rights as nursing mothers, but that Target has different policies because they are a family-friendly public place." She felt outraged and humiliated as the conversation devolved further, with the Target representative allegedly saying that women shouldn't walk around flaunting 'it.'"

Target's corporate policy

Target has been scrutinized in the media in the past when employees didn't follow the nationwide chain's corporate policy. The policy surfaced in the news in 2006 when a mother was told by an employee to stop nursing her baby in a fitting room and to go to a restroom instead. And most notably, a Michigan mother was escorted out of the store and the police were called after she was noticed breastfeeding her newborn in the electronics department in 2009.

What exactly does the policy say, anyway? The policy today reads as follows:

“For guests in our stores, we support the use of fitting rooms for women who wish to breastfeed their babies, even if others are waiting to use the fitting rooms. In addition, guests who choose to breastfeed discreetly in more public areas of the store are welcome to do so without being made to feel uncomfortable.”

Open to interpretation

The policy, while it may sound great on the surface, really leaves a lot to be desired. Relegating a nursing mother to a fitting room sounds nice -- it is, in fact, a clean area with a place to sit and relax. But to a nursing mother, this may sound like she needs to hide to nurse, when in fact breastfeeding in public is not illegal anywhere in the U.S.

The language in the policy is questionable as well. Nursing discreetly is often a goal of a nursing mother, but being discreet means different things to different people. For example, what if an employee believes that discretion means totally covered with a blanket, but your baby won't tolerate one?

Were the employees in the right?

We asked mothers around the country to weigh in on the alleged actions by Target employees and representatives. Heather from California pointed out, "Hubby works at Target and says that at no point during their training are they told to ask a nursing woman to move."

Jessica, a mother of five, has plenty of breastfeeding experience. "I never had a problem nursing in public," she related, "but I have never tried to sit down in Target out in the open. Usually, I would go the eatery or the changing room. I do not think they treated her fairly at all."

Chris from Missouri had a suggestion for Target headquarters in response to this situation. "I've been more offended by some people's breath," he shared. "If their corporate office says they support it, then they should stand on it. If lower-level employees don't -- or won't -- adhere to that policy, they should be terminated."

Need to be discreet

Breastfeeding in public is always a debatable issue, but many people say that as long as the mother isn't exposing too much of her breasts, it is fine. Lisa from Kansas said, "I am for breastfed babies, but this needs to be done in a discreet manner. For me, I consider this a personal thing and would not have done this in a public facility."

The bottom line

Being harassed is one of the last things a new mother should have to worry about. Michelle, the mother involved in this story, had this to say to sum up her feelings about the incident: "It saddens me that mothers are being treated this way as if breastfeeding is vile and offensive. If this would have happened to me with the first child I nursed I would have considered giving up on nursing due to embarrassment and that is what concerns me the most."

There is a nationwide nurse-in scheduled for Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. at every local Target store. Check out the Facebook page for more info.

New mom Alyssa Milano breastfeeds her son Milo. However, she recently revealed that she doesn't like to do it in public for fear the paparazzi will snap a picture of her. Angelina Jolie, on the other hand, was on the cover of a magazine nursing one of her twins. Learn about other celebrity moms who breastfed their babies, including those who nurse in public.

 Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano loves the “closeness” that breastfeeding her baby son Milo brings, but admits that it does have its challenges. “The biggest surprise was how something that is so natural can be so awkward in the beginning,” she told Best for Babes. One of the biggest challenges for Milano? Breastfeeding in public.

“I wish I could breastfeed in public without feeling as though a picture would show up on TMZ,” she said. “I’ve breastfed Milo in my car numerous times and in fitting rooms at stores. But mostly, when we go out I bring a bottle of expressed milk because sadly, I’m just not comfortable feeding him in public.”

Luckily, she does have plenty of support with her million followers and she often tweets baby questions and gives her own advice. “People are very weird when it comes to BFing. It puts so much needless pressure and stress on the mommy,” she wrote in response to one follower who said she felt guilty when her milk didn’t come in.

 Angelina Jolie and kids

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is not shy about breastfeeding in public. In fact, she was photographed on the cover of W magazine nursing one of her twins. “They eat every three hours and I’m getting better at holding them both for [breast]feeding at the same time, so that helps,” she told People.

“We try to get them to eat simultaneously for the sake of management, but it gets a little crowded at the bar!” Pitt joked.

 Mayim Bialik

Mayim Bialik

Actress Mayim Bialik said last year she was still breastfeeding her 2 1/2-year-old son and nursed her older son until he two as well. "I have not slept more than four hours in almost six years. My son, however, is healthy, happy and independent and I see no reason to wean him," she revealed to the Jewish parenting blog Kveller. “I am grateful that I can nourish him with nature's perfect food, which is unable to be replicated by any artificial milk or animal milk."

One of the best ways to keep the romance revved up throughout the hectic holiday season is to come up with some traditions that are just for you and your spouse. This makes the holidays about more than just rushing around and trying to keep everyone else happy. We put together three romance tips sure to inject a little more love into the season.
Couple kissing under mistletoe in bedroom

Holiday romance tips

One of the best ways to keep the romance revved up throughout the hectic holiday season is to come up with some traditions that are just for you and your spouse. This makes the holidays about more than just rushing around and trying to keep everyone else happy. We put together three ideas sure to inject a little more love into the season.

Mistletoe in the bedroom

Mistletoe isn’t just for holiday parties. String some up in the doorway to the bedroom or better yet, in various spots throughout your home. Whenever you and your man find yourselves under the must-smooch spot, share a kiss before going off to do whatever you were going to do. Incorporating mistletoe into your home forces you to slow down and appreciate each other during one of the more stressful times of year. You might not think you need a reminder to kiss, but Christmas is a busy time and one where you likely have so much going on that alone time isn’t often possible.

Holiday dinner for two

Choose one evening this month and make it just about the two of you. If you have kids, send them to a babysitter or their grandparents' house and have your own romantic holiday dinner. If you like to cook, decide on the menu together and cook up something delicious as a team. If you don’t feel like cooking, head to a local gourmet food shop to pick up some prepared goodies. Add a bottle of wine , light some candles, turn on some festive music and enjoy your Christmas dinner for two. Making this a tradition will be a respite from seasonal stress and give you something special to look forward to each year that’s just for you.

Homemade gifts

We’re not suggesting you forgo gifts altogether, but we love the idea of giving each other one handmade or DIY gift each year. Give yourselves a budget and a timeline and then get to work. The possibilities are endless. If you knit, make him a cute sleeve for his iPad. If he loves those triple chocolate cookies you never make, whip him up a batch. The point is to really get creative and show your love through something other than a price tag. Whatever you make doesn’t need to be complicated, but it should show some thought and caring. We’re willing to bet that the homemade gifts you create for each other become even more special than the ones that came from a store.

Robin Lim, CNN Hero of the Year, helped improve birth outcomes in Indonesia

Mother and baby outcomes in the island nation of Indonesia are less than ideal, with a high infant mortality rate and unequal access to prenatal medical care. American Robin Lim has been awarded CNN's Hero of the Year award for bringing free care to the mothers of Indonesia. Read on to learn more about her inspiring story.

CNN Heroes Mother Robin

A lack of education, access to birth control and money are all contributing factors to the poor outcomes of many mothers giving birth in Indonesia today, but Robin Lim has done her part in the southeast Asian country by providing prenatal care and birth services at no cost. Her clinics, called Yayasan Bumi Sehat , give Indonesian mothers a chance at an attended delivery and excellent care -- for no charge.

Birth in Indonesia

With an average daily family income of around $8, many women in Indonesia are unable to afford prenatal care or a hospital delivery. Some hospitals will even hold a newborn baby until the medical bill is paid in full, restricting the new mom's access to her infant and sometimes even forcing her to decide to give her little one for adoption if the bill remain unpaid.

A mother is often only allowed to see, feed and diaper her baby twice a day during this time, which is heartbreaking and difficult for any new mom to deal with.

This has lead to many moms birthing alone at home, with no skilled birth attendant on hand nor any emergency help nearby if something goes wrong. The infant mortality rate in Indonesia is very high, with nearly 29 babies dying per 1,000 live births. Compare this to the mortality rate in the United States of 6.22 deaths per 1,000 live births.

Mother Robin's story

Lim and her husband moved to their new island home on Bali after she suffered several personal tragedies, including the death of her sister who passed away from a complication during her third pregnancy. Lim grew up in a military family while her father was stationed in Indonesia and has always felt at home in southeast Asia, so she and her husband chose the area to start a new life.

While Lim didn't set out to become a midwife, she found herself volunteering to accompany other midwives while they went about their duties. She was soon certified in midwifery and in 2003, she opened her first clinic with the help of the local community and worldwide donations. A second clinic was opened in 2004, and together they have helped birth over 5,000 babies -- many whose parents don't have anything but mangoes to give for payment.

CNN Hero of the Year

Mother Robin, or Ibu Robin , was nominated for CNN's Hero of the Year for her selfless dedication to low-income women in Indonesia. Online voters decided that she should be the recipient of a $250,000 award to be dedicated towards her cause -- money that will be put toward funding her clinic and helping even more mothers safely birth their babies.
