Gerard Butler, Woody Harrelson, Rashida Jones, and Sofia Vergara were up bright and early to help announce the nominees for next month's Golden Globes.
The nominations for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's 69th annual Golden Golden Awards were announced in Beverly Hills this morning -- mirroring many of the noms that dominated the 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination ceremony on Wednesday.
"Good morning everyone and thank you for setting your alarm clock extra, extra early today," HFPA president Aida Takla-O'Reilly said moments before the roll call of nominees for the year's best in television and film began.
The Artist leads this year's film nominations with six bids.
Eternal bachelor George Clooney picked up three.
Tied for second-place in Thursday's nominations were the 1960s racial drama The Help and Clooney's Hawaiian family story The Descendants.
The Golden Globes have historically been good at predicting likely best picture nominees for the Academy Awards.
Globe voters once had a solid track record at forecasting the champ of Oscar night's biggest prize, but they've been missing the mark in recent years.
In the past seven years, only one top Globe recipient has gone on claim the main trophy on Oscar night.
The voters might have better luck in 2012. The show now has two best picture categories, one for drama and a second for musicals and comedies.
