Eternal pop princess Britney Spears may be getting engaged. We hear Spears' longtime boyfriend, and sometimes manager, Jason Trawick, plans to ask for the singer's hand in marriage during a romantic trip to Las Vegas this weekend.

Will the third time be the charm for the twice-divorced Britney Spears?

There'll be no lumps of coal -- only a shiny diamond engagement ring -- in Spearsy's stocking this Christmas.

Word on the curb has it that the " Crazy" hitmaker will be presented with a pre-holiday marriage proposal from longtime beau Jason Trawick this weekend.

Spears celebrated her 30th birthday earlier this month and Trawick has decided that it's the perfect time to pop the question to pop's Comeback Kid, spywitnesses squeal.

Tittle tattles say the romantic proposal will go down this Friday night as the couple prepares to rendezvous in Las Vegas for a little weekend rest and relaxation.

If Britney's Twitter feed is any indication, Jason may have already presented the brass ring to Spears.

Check out this tweet featured on the pop tart's Twitter page early Friday, "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo..."

In an unorthodox move for the potential future newlyweds, Spears and Trawick will have to present their case before a judge in the famed singer's conservatorship case before they'll be allowed to wed.

Britney's father, Jamie Spears, was granted control over the singer’s affairs in February 2008, after she was hospitalized in the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute following an emotional meltdown.

The elder Spears has been instrumental in helping his famous daughter separate herself from toxic figures in her life, sources say. An informant close to Spears tells Radar Online that the previously-troubled pop star has made “tremendous progress” in working through her problems thanks to the conservatorship.

Insiders say it's likely that Britney and Jason will get the judge's OK to walk down the aisle.

Provided she accepts Jason's proposal, of course.

The first time the songstress headed to divorce court, it was to end her 55 hour marriage to Jason Alexander in 2004. Spears formally split from second hubby Kevin Federline, after two years and two kids, in 2007.

"Jason did it the old fashioned way… by asking Britney's dad, Jamie Spears, for permission to marry his daughter. And they're also doing it the new-fashioned way… we've learned there WILL be a prenup," TMZ writes.

Britney, as you may recall, lost a portion of her multimillion-dollar fortune in her divorce settlement with Federline.
