4 Ways to control your health

Posted by Johan on Thursday, December 8, 2011

Do you prioritize taking care of your body -- where you will live the rest of your life? Spending more time confirming that your body, regardless of its condition, belongs to only you for the rest of your life is the first step in taking control of your health. Here are four tips to improve your health and the quality of your life.

Listen to your body!

You may think your body has nothing to say on how well you treat it, but it most certainly does -- if you’re listening. Your body tells you to reconsider how you are treating it, every time you push your body against its natural limitations or neglect it. Your body will get your attention with headaches, severe pain, lack of energy, dizziness and other malfunctions. If it hurts, don’t do it. And if you’re not doing anything to care for your body, get to it.

Consider the cost of chance

When you develop a healthy lifestyle, you start each day knowing that your body is ready and able to function in a joyful, complementary mode. Your health becomes your gift and the reward in taking the responsibility in its maintenance. However, when you neglect your health and turn the control of your health over to chance, your health becomes a two-fold burden. First, the financial burden to repair your health takes a toll on your income. Second, you submit to living in a body that is in chronic pain or, at the least, uncomfortable.

Set realistic health goals

When setting your health and fitness goals, stay in touch with the condition of your health. The responsibility of developing the right program falls on your shoulders. The goals you set should be compatible with your body and involve activities that you enjoy doing. This will eliminate the danger of giving up your goals and having your health suffer the consequences.

Pay attention to your age

Age becomes a factor in your life experience regardless of what you are practicing. However, you need to be careful not to fall into a trap of blaming your age for your state of health. The quality of your health is proportional to the time you put into the health program you follow. Do you follow a good health program or a lackluster routine? Age is merely a reminder of the time you have left to adopt or stick to a healthy lifestyle. Age in itself does not diminish the quality of your health program.
