Is Demi Lovato shacking up with Wilmer Valderrama?

Posted by Johan on Thursday, December 8, 2011

Big changes are on the horizon for Disney's Demi Lovato, 19. A year ago, a fragile Demi was bulimic and close to suicide. Today, she's a confident young woman eyeing co-habitation and a serious future with her playboy beau, actor Wilmer Valderrama.

She's barely old enough to vote, but 19-year-old star Demi Lovato has reportedly made a very adult decision about her love life: She's moving in with her sooo not Disney-friendly boyfriend, actor Wilmer Valderrama.

The "Skyscraper" singer is picking up the pieces of her life, fresh off a year that brought an emotional breakdown and a lengthy stay in a suburban Chicago rehab facility.

"Demi's keeping her home in the L.A. Valley, but she's pretty much moving into Wilmer's place across town," a friend says. "She's young, but she's very mature for her age and is looking to settle down fairly soon."

At 31, Wilmer is 12 years Demi's senior. His past romantic conquests include Ashlee Simpson, Mandy Moore and Lindsay Lohan. Did we mention Mischa Barton?

The former Sonny with a Chance actress fell straight into the arms of the serial celeb dater after she was dumped by boy bander Joe Jonas last year. Wilmer was her "boyfriend" at the exact point she went from Disney sweetheart to bulimic and in rehab.

Demi checked herself into rehab last October, citing "emotional and physical issues" after reportedly brawling with a backup dancer.

Demi Lovato returns to rehab -- just to say hi >>

"The two started seeing each other in May right after her breakup with Jonas," a source told The New York Post's "Page Six" column earlier this year. "She would show us pictures of them together."

Reps for Wilmer and Demi aren't talking -- but the pair sure seemed to confirm the romance whispers when they were photographed locking lips outside Wilmer's Los Angeles home in November.

Demi didn't want to comment on that either.

Instead, the singer/actress is focused on living authentically -- even if that means getting serious with a much older man known more for the notches on his bedpost than his work on the small screen.

"I don't let anyone's insecurities, emotions or opinions bother me,"  the former child actress told Seventeen magazine in April.

"I know that if I am happy, that's all that matters to me. And it's okay to be selfish like that sometimes, when it comes to your well-being. Do what makes you happy and don't care what others think."

Do you think moving in with her 31-year-old lover is the right choice for Demi?

Will Ryan Seacrest replace Matt Lauer on NBC's Today?

Posted by Johan

Could Ryan Seacrest replace The Today Show staple Matt Lauer? The American Idol frontman is in talks with NBC executives about possibly replacing Lauer as host of America's most-watched morning gabfest in 2012.

How would you like to spend your mornings with Ryan Seacrest?

The American Idol host already fronts one of the nation's most popular AM radio shows in the form of On Air with Ryan Seacrest, but could a turn on NBC's The Today Show be next for the self-professed "Hardest-Working Man in Hollywood?"

Top NBC executives -- including NBC News president Steve Capus, Today executive producer Jim Bell and senior vice-president of marketing and communications Lauren Kapp -- flew to Los Angeles on Tuesday to speak with Seacrest about the possibility of succeeding current co-anchor Matt Lauer.

How he'd have the time is anyone's guess: Ry already has a hosting gig on E! and produces the network's hit docu-soap, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Seacrest also serves as co-host of ABC's annual holiday countdown, Dick Clark's New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest

Ryan's deal with E! ends next year -- possibly making the star free to pursue other interests.

Talks with Seacrest are tentative, but they could represent a strong backup plan for The Peacock should Lauer decide to head for the hills, The Wall Street Journal said this week.

Lauer replaced Bryant Gumbel as a Today co-anchor in 1997. His contract with the nation's top-rated morning show expires in 2012 and industry insiders have speculated that he'll leave the show at that time.

Today is one of at least two breakfast programs actively recruiting Seacrest. The 36-year-old TV personality joins Bravo VP Andy Cohen and sudster alum Mark Consuelos as a favorite to replace former Live! co-host Regis Philbin

This isn't the only big deal potentially in the works for Ryan.

The small guy with the big microphone has reportedly wanted to launch his own music, pop culture and lifestyle-oriented network for several years. In September, Seacrest and entertainment giant AEG entered talks for the media mogul to take over struggling cable network VH1 Soul.

Magical holiday dessert: Coconut creme brulee

Posted by Johan

When the crunchy, caramelized sugar melts on your tongue, it reveals a cool, smooth, creamy custard infused with toasted coconut.

Coconut creme brulee

Creme brulee, with its creamy custard and addictive caramelized topping, has long been a restaurant chef's secret weapon. The creme brulee recipe comes together quickly, holds exceptionally well in the refrigerator and has the ability to capture our curious imaginations – just how did they get that sugary topping to turn into a magnificent candy shell that tastes like toasted marshmallow revealing a creamy custard infused with toasted coconut? Easy.

Once you master the custard technique, which is little more than mixing ingredients together at the right time and cooking them gently in a water bath , you can experiment with additional flavors. And with "easy" being the key word, you can make creme brulee your secret dessert recipe weapon this holiday season, too.

Coconut creme brulee

Serving size: 8

For the custard:

  • 1 cup toasted unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 vanilla bean, split, seeds scraped
  • 8 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Boiling water

For the brulee:

  • 3/4 cup sugar

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine coconut, cream, vanilla bean seeds and pod over medium-low heat. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally; do not boil. Remove from heat; set aside 10 minutes. Strain mixture through a fine sieve; reserve cream.
  2. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar and salt until creamy and pale. Using a ladle, pour a small amount of the cream mixture into the eggs to temper, whisking constantly; repeat. Add remaining cream, and whisk to incorporate. Strain mixture through a fine sieve into a pitcher.
  3. On the bottom of a large roasting pan, place a damp kitchen towel; place eight baking dishes on the towel. Divide cream mixture evenly between dishes.
  4. Place pan in oven. Pour enough boiling water into the pan to come halfway up the baking dishes, being careful not to splash any water into the custard. Bake 40 minutes or until custard is set around the edges but trembles slightly in the center. Remove pan from oven. Remove baking dishes from water; let cool on a wire rack 10 minutes; refrigerate four hours. Brulee when custard has cooled or cover custards with plastic wrap and refrigerate up to three days.
  5. To brulee, working with one at a time, sprinkle a thin layer of sugar over the custard. Using a brulee torch, heat sugar until melted and golden; serve immediately.

Reality Steve being sued for spilling spoilers

Posted by Johan

Have you ever invested eight weeks in finding out who the man will pick as his wife on your favorite dating show , only to log on to the internet to find the answer you tried so hard to avoid? Yeah, those spoilers are really being cracked down on.

Reality Steve is definitely a guru when it comes to finding out the best spoilers, but his sleuth days might be numbered.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Reality Steve is being sued by NZK Productions and Alternative Television, Inc. for the methods he uses in finding out spoilers on The Bachelor before it airs.

The parties are claiming he seeks out employees and other individuals close to the show in order to get them to "breach their confidentiality obligations."

According to the report, in an email allegedly written by Steve Carbone to one of the individuals, he wrote, "Let me just say, I'm very well aware of your contract. I also know that over 500 contestants have been on this show and not one of them has ever been sued for the $5 million."

Carbone added, "It's just a scare tactic. Trust me. Just like they had no idea you sent me that last email, they'll have no idea about any correspondence either."

The reality hound went on to say of the confidants fear, "I know you're scared and a little paranoid by it, but don't be. Unless they are hacking your email or tapping your phone, there's absolutely no way for them to find out."

Whether or not his tactics have worked on everyone he's come in contact with remains to be seen, but we can say he's been spot-on with many of his findings -- well, maybe not all the time.

The lawsuit is worth $75,000 in damages and claims his methods "constitute unfair and illegal business acts" and are "unscrupulous, immoral, unethical, oppressive and injurious."

We want to hear from you -- has The Bachelor been spoiled for you thanks to Reality Steve? Oh, that reminds us. Ben Flajnik is back to find love on The Bachelor coming Jan. 2!

Glee goes number one with "We Are Young"

Posted by Johan

For the second time this season, Glee hit number one. Keep reading to see how the talented cast nabbed the number one spot.

Glee isn't a stranger to producing hits that fans love to jam out to and this week's episode gave gleeks just that. The proof is in the number one honor.

Glee's Tuesday night episode, "Hold On To Sixteen," gave the show its second number one hit this season with the song "We Are Young."

If you were watching, and we know you were, the song was performed in the last minutes of the sectionals episode that blended The Troubletones and New Directions into a mega-hit glee club.

The return of Mercedes, Santana and Brittany to the New Directions was music to many fans' ears.

The cast's version of "We Are Young," from pop band Fun, hit number one on iTunes Tuesday night.

It's the same feat the cast managed a few episodes back with their mash-up for "Rumour Has It/Someone Like You."

You know you remember that show-stopping episode -- it was kind of hard to miss with that mash-up of hotness!

The Glee cast's mash-up of "I Will Survive/Survivor" from this week managed to make its way into the top 10.

Not bad at all!

If you missed the mash-up, check it out below...

"Hold On To Sixteen" marked the return of Chord Overstreet as Sam Evans. If you were wondering what "Trouty Mouth" was up to since leaving Lima, wonder no longer.

It was revealed he was working as a stripper named White Chocolate!

We want to hear from you -- what did you think of "We Are Young?" Is it on your iPod right now?

If it's not, what are you waiting for?
