Eternal pop princess Britney Spears may be getting engaged. We hear Spears' longtime boyfriend, and sometimes manager, Jason Trawick, plans to ask for the singer's hand in marriage during a romantic trip to Las Vegas this weekend.

Will the third time be the charm for the twice-divorced Britney Spears?

There'll be no lumps of coal -- only a shiny diamond engagement ring -- in Spearsy's stocking this Christmas.

Word on the curb has it that the " Crazy" hitmaker will be presented with a pre-holiday marriage proposal from longtime beau Jason Trawick this weekend.

Spears celebrated her 30th birthday earlier this month and Trawick has decided that it's the perfect time to pop the question to pop's Comeback Kid, spywitnesses squeal.

Tittle tattles say the romantic proposal will go down this Friday night as the couple prepares to rendezvous in Las Vegas for a little weekend rest and relaxation.

If Britney's Twitter feed is any indication, Jason may have already presented the brass ring to Spears.

Check out this tweet featured on the pop tart's Twitter page early Friday, "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo..."

In an unorthodox move for the potential future newlyweds, Spears and Trawick will have to present their case before a judge in the famed singer's conservatorship case before they'll be allowed to wed.

Britney's father, Jamie Spears, was granted control over the singer’s affairs in February 2008, after she was hospitalized in the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute following an emotional meltdown.

The elder Spears has been instrumental in helping his famous daughter separate herself from toxic figures in her life, sources say. An informant close to Spears tells Radar Online that the previously-troubled pop star has made “tremendous progress” in working through her problems thanks to the conservatorship.

Insiders say it's likely that Britney and Jason will get the judge's OK to walk down the aisle.

Provided she accepts Jason's proposal, of course.

The first time the songstress headed to divorce court, it was to end her 55 hour marriage to Jason Alexander in 2004. Spears formally split from second hubby Kevin Federline, after two years and two kids, in 2007.

"Jason did it the old fashioned way… by asking Britney's dad, Jamie Spears, for permission to marry his daughter. And they're also doing it the new-fashioned way… we've learned there WILL be a prenup," TMZ writes.

Britney, as you may recall, lost a portion of her multimillion-dollar fortune in her divorce settlement with Federline.

The X Factor: Final three to fight for glory!

The X Factor's long road to the finale is finally winding down, with the reveal of the final three. Read on to see who's singing for the title.

After a season of controversy over contestants having experience and being eliminated too soon , The X Factor is close to crowning a winner who will take home a $5 million recording contract. 

On Thursday night, Marcus Canty, Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik stood on The X Factor stage to find out their fate.

Who would go to the finals? Chris Rene and Melanie Amaro were the first two contestants to hear the results.

America loved both of these talented singers so much, they were both put through and they could breathe a sigh of relief. 

Poor Marcus Canty and Josh Krajcik had to sit and wait while the episode carried on with a performance of Nicole Scherzinger's new single "Pretty."

Why do they do that to these poor people? Just let them know.

We do have to give Simon Cowell props, who took responsibility for Drew Ryniewicz's untimely exit, for giving Nicole a critique fit for a Scherzinger.

Cowell said of her performance: "I believe in you, you believe in me, you transcend the universe, God is smiling on you, life is a waterfall and you are the ultimate rainbow."

Finally, Canty and Krajcik were brought in front of the audience where it was revealed after a long, unnecessary pause, that Josh Krajcik would be moving on to the finals. 

Marcus Canty said of his exit: “This is not the last time you will see Marcus Canty." Well, after three times in the bottom over the last three weeks, he managed to stay alive in the competition, so we know there's a fighter in him. 

There you have it, your finale is set. Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik will sing for glory on the finale of The X Factor.

Just hours after receiving a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in quirky comedy Young Adult, Charlize Theron appeared on the red carpet of its Beverly Hills premiere. SheKnows was on the carpet to get you the scoop from this glowing nominee.

"I've been blessed,” Charlize Theron said of her life and recent Golden Globe nomination as she arrived air-kissing friends and fellow actors on the red carpet for the movie premiere of her new quirky comedy Young Adult at the Academy of Motion Picture and Sciences in Beverly Hills.

Charlize Theron steps out at the Young Adult movie premiere recalling her own young adult experiences.

The 36-year-old actress, who looked stunning in a two-toned cropped dress, plays the aging ex-prom queen who goes back to her home town to try to win her now-married-with-a-baby ex-boyfriend back. "I saw a lot of potential in this character," Theron said when asked why she took the role.

Put on your "big girl pants"

The film was written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody who was also in attendance. Cody commented that being a mother definitely made her feel like an adult, but also the moment she knew she had to put on her "big girl pants" was when she started becoming a success in Hollywood.

"I suddenly had a lot of responsibility, and I had to be accountable for what I said and did for the first time in my life."

As for high school, Cody had trouble saying it was the best time of her life.

Who did have a good time in high school, right?

Not many, it appears.

Actor J.K. Simmons, who also turned out for the premiere, agreed that high school was not his moment in the sun. In fact, he's not quite sure if he has grown up. Simmons played the father to Ellen Page's character in the 2007 quirky comedy Juno about a high school girl who finds out she's pregnant. That film was also written by Cody and directed by Jason Reitman, who also directed Young Adult, making this their second joint writer-director movie project together.

Reitman arrived on the carpet to the flutter of flashbulbs with his father, director Ivan Reitman .

Also in attendance were Twilight’s Elizabeth Reaser, who stars in the film as Theron's main competition for getting her boyfriend back, and Patton Oswalt, who plays the guy everyone made fun of in high school.

Take this coffee cake recipe, for example: The color and flavor of cranberries help to bring on its merry goodness. This cake is delightful when you’re warming up with a hot drink or visiting with friends!

Gluten-free cranberry swirl spice cake

Serves 8-10

Ingredients:

• 4 cups Glutino Gluten Free Pantry Old Fashioned Cake and Cookie Mix
• 1 cup softened unsalted butter or margarine
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon cloves
• 4 eggs, lightly beaten
• 2 teaspoons gluten-free vanilla extract
• 2 cups low-fat gluten-free sour cream
• 1 can whole cranberries mixed with 3/4 cup golden raisins
• 1-1/2 cups walnuts

Glaze:

• 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
• 2-3 teaspoons warm water
• 1/2 teaspoon gluten-free vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 10-cup tube pan and dust it with rice flour.
2. Beat the butter until fluffy, and then combine the mix with your spices.
3. Add the mix to the butter and beat to combine. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat well. Fold in the sour cream.
4. Layer half of the batter in the pan. Spread with half the cranberry mixture and sprinkle with half the walnuts.
5. Top with the remaining batter, and then cover with the remainder of the cranberry mixture and walnuts.
6. Bake 60 minutes and allow to cool completely. Remove from pan and drizzle with glaze.

The colors and flavors of the season will be gone before you know it. Enjoy it while you can with treats like this gluten-free coffee cake!

Whether it's cold and windy or you're just home with the flu, sometimes the best antidote is a nice hot bowl of soup. But instead of chicken, why not try some creamy cheese and vegetables?

It's December and that means only one thing. No, not the holidays. It means colds and coughs have hit the Richmond household. Between my nose running and my son's hacking cough keeping us up all night, no one's in a very good mood. I don't know about you, but when I'm not in a good mood, the last thing I want to do is cook... unless it's cookies or cake.

But sometimes cooking helps turn that frown upside down, especially when I'm making a big pot of hot soup to help coat the throat and chase those nasty germs away. While my first choice is usually chicken soup with matzo balls, a thick, rich creamy soup runs a very close second. So when I saw this recipe from Betty Crocker for a soup that not only called for several cups of shredded cheddar cheese but also beer, I knew it would be the perfect antidote to what ails me and the rest of the family. I mean, when doesn't a little beer and cheese put a smile on your face? It always seems to put a smile on mine.

Beer cheese soup

Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1-1/2 medium carrots, finely chopped
• 1 rib celery, finely chopped
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 2 cups chicken stock
• 3/4 cup Bisquick mix
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 cup milk
• 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
• 1/2  cup light beer

Directions:

1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the carrots, celery and onion and cook for about 10 minutes until the vegetables are tender but not mushy.
2. In a large bowl mix together the chicken stock, Bisquick and pepper until smooth. Gradually stir the stock mixture into the vegetable mixture. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Stir in the milk and cheese and cook until the cheese is melted. Stir in the beer and serve.
